Merry Christmas

I feel bad having neglected this blog for such a long time. But with winter here, I have been busy just staying warm and making sure there is enough to eat. I did get each of you a little somethng to remember me by, though. In each of these little boxes is a "pressie" for each of you. The hugs and well wishes wrapped in them are as sincere as they can be. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the wonderful people (and squirrels) out there!

(Actually I doubt if after all this time of being away, that anyone will pop in, but you just never know....)

Wild times in PA

I'm just plumb worn out. I took a trip to PA yesterday. I've heard that is where all the smokin' squirrel dudes are, so I had to check it out for myself. And oh my! "they" were right! I chased several of them until they caught me *wink, wink*

Strangest thing, though. there was this cute man who kept taking my picture. He reminded me of that Iggy dude who was convicted of harrassing us squirrels and sentenced to no more pictures... but it couldn't have been him... Right? It doesn't matter, though, cuz he got my bestest side (I was running up a tree chasing the "eye candy")

Whew, I am just going to have to rest awhile...

An award

Hmmmm I got another award. Problem is it is inPortugese.? So I am scratching my little squirrelly head here. What did I do to deserve this award? Somehow I think it might have something to do with the other night when I was out partying with my bushy tail friends. One red tail dude actually thought I was hooking up with him. Where in the world would he get an idea like that? Oh my we had a time! Here is a picture they took of me. See why I think the award has something to do with my wild night in the tree tops?

Here is the award and the award description. Thank you Ladystyx! Please, all you squirrels who stop in here, grab this award and post it on your site. You deserve it!

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”The award translates as, "This blog invests and believes, the proximity" [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proximity]

Here is one going around that I got off of Punkn's Blog, who got it off of Intenseguy's Blog, who got it off Wife O Riley's blog, who got it from... well you get the picture. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LOVE? Angel Eyes - Jeff Healy Band (big BROWN angel eyes)

I'm rich! I'm rich!

Out of the blue an anonymous donor leaves me a FORTUNE! in money. I can't figure it out! I mean this is just too much. I was looking at starvation this winter and now... I can feed me, all my cousins and that funny man who keeps trying to take my picture (I think his name is Ignatious, Ignoramous, Intenseone, Igfamous, Igocha, Igwalkaman... something like that) Acorns for all! Oh thank you dear benefactor. Strange thing is that I happened over to Punkn's Place and saw where she won a LOT of money tonight - and Ladystyx suggested she take care of Sugar Bush for a change (that would be sweet lil me). Is it possible that Punkn was generous for a change? Ahhhh I love you Punkn! (LOL I think someone has a multi-personality disorder)

IF YOU DON'T VOTE - THEN QUIT YOUR BELLYACHING!

OK, OK... I know you ain't gonna vote for me, no matter how cute I am. But PLEASE! VOTE!

And here I need to add a personal plea. Please vote to save our babies. They didn't do anything to deserve being killed before they even have a chance at life. What if your mom decided she hadn't wanted you?

Scribbler and Jots and Blushes

AN AWARD!

Winter is on its way. Not enough time, not enough time! Those acorns are hard to come by. And finding a place to hide them so my huge extended family doesn't find them and "squirrel them away" from me is just a nightmare! So, I've sadly been neglecting my blog friends. Especially that cute guy who keeps trying to take my photo *winks*. I know, I know... I pretend I don't like it, but I secretly do. And don't tell him but I secretly sneak into his blog to see what mischief he is up to. Imagine my surprise when I was lurking in there tonight and discovered he has a crush on me! It can't be nearly as big as the crush I have on him, but still... a crush on lil' ol me? Oh my!

And the coolest thing of all... he gave me an award! I am so unworthy and so honored! I ran up and down my oak tree home a dozen times I was so excited. Then I made a couple of trips to the bird feeder and ran across the the fence. Finally I settled down enough to smooch Intenseguy, the King of Scribbles and Jots.

Now isn't this one of the coolest awards ever?Being a squirrel, I tend to ignore all rules. Rules are for humans, not squirrels. So..... I followed two of the rules. I scampered over to Linky Link. And I posted a comment. But I must scamper off to find more acorns.

Thank you Iggy for the award - even if I am totally undeserving!

Driving Ms. Squirrelly

It would seem that Intenseguy is very kindly awarding cars to people while he is recuperatiing from his surgery. Now what do you think his little friend SugarBush gets? Well not a car, I'll have you know. He snuck in and took a picture of me when I was partying with Punkn over the weekend. If you don't believe me, check out his post at http://www.intenseguy.blogspot.com/. The sign above proves that my kind drive - and very carefully, I might add.

Hello all

The Drug Problem in America

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?''
I replied: I had a drug problem when I was young:I was drug to church on Sunday morning.
I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.
I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, didnot speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.
I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profane four-letter word.
I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields.
I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood;
and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.
Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.
